I discovered this form of art through a friend, Jill Pease, who studied with Michele Cassou, the author of Life, Paint and Passion: Reclaiming the Magic of Spontaneous Expression. We painted on large sheets of paper with beautiful tempera paints which quickly threw me back to my childhood kindergarten easel. I was encouraged to paint anything I wanted and engage with feeling of color and paint on the paper which resulted in a total sense of freedom and joy. It was also an opportunity to push through my resistance and judgment that I, like most adults, harbor within myself.
